Kinderhilfe helps Charlotte families get back on their feet through emergency rent and utility assistance, funding for childcare, and educational expenses. Our dream is to help families establish financial security while building pathways to new economic opportunities.

Enrolled families work one-on-one with a specially trained team member for an average of six months to a year to identify barriers to financial security and set reachable goals for the future. Housing stability and childcare are guaranteed through subsidies while you work to develop a more stable life for your family.

  • Mortgage
  • Education
• In special circumstances we provide funding for afterschool programs, day care, or school enrollment.
• We verify school program attendance and help with educational challenges.
• We start with a personal home visit from Danny Hudson, founder of Kinderhilfe. Additionally, throughout the financial management training Danny personally checks in with each family.
• Kinderhilfe support may be discontinued if donations are not sufficient to cover the cost.
• Background checks are required for all adults participating in the program.
